Rod Tompkins continues to serve as CEO at the young age of 80 years and carries the same belief he did almost 45 years earlier when he started the company, “it’s not only the product we build but the way we do business that differentiates us from all the others.” His son, Dana took over acting as President in 2019 and continues to grow that same customer centered mindset.
For years many people believed “modular home” to be a negative term when in reality, a Heritage Home has always been built to the International Building Code (IRC) just as any site-built home is required to be, and since they are regulated far more than a site builder would be – they actually may exceed some of those standards. Mobile or manufactured homes are built only to the HUD codes.

They can also sell directly to homeowners – saving big dollars for someone who has construction experience and can put in some sweat equity or for those who want to find and use their own general contractor!
Heritage Homes offers several different styles from the basic ranch, to elaborate two-story, prow, loft, and cape cod style homes. Since all of their homes are custom-built, the specifications and design features the customer selects will determine the final investment. Heritage will work with you and your local builders or contractors to design the home specifically built to the needs and desires of the customer. When designing a new Heritage Home, the choices are limited only by your imagination.
You can be rest assured knowing that your new Heritage Home is covered by a limited one-year workmanship warranty. Each Heritage Home features a ten-year structural warranty from R.W.C. (Residential Warranty Corporation), an independent third-party administrator.
